Just in, is some great news for academic travellers heading to Cambridge University, destinations in north London, as well as the wider regions of England’s South East and the Midlands.
From 8 June 2018, Emirates will commence flying daily direct from Dubai to London’s Stansted Airport, 69km north east of central London. This service will put academic travellers on the ground just 30 minutes from Cambridge by train, and also close to local tech and pharma hubs.
On the average weekday there are 48 direct train services travelling from Stansted Airport to Cambridge Station, while Stansted Express trains depart every 15 minutes and take just 47 minutes to arrive at Liverpool Street London. The modern Stansted Express services offer free Wi-Fi and passengers can change at Tottenham Hale or London Liverpool Street to connect with the London Underground lines.
The new Emirates service is the first to Stansted Airport by a Middle Eastern airline and it offers a great alternative to flying into busy Heathrow airport, complete with less security and immigration delays. Emirates will be flying Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route offering First Class, Business Class and Economy. Flights will depart Dubai at 9.30am – arriving Stansted at 2.10pm and depart Stansted at 9.10pm – arriving Dubai at 7.05am.
