Qantas is preparing for another week of strike action after being advised by the Transport Workers Union (TWU) of various work stoppages today and over the next few days.
Almost 3,800 baggage handlers, ground staff and other Qantas employees will stop work at all major Australian airports at 8am on Friday 30 September for one hour.
The union has also advised that more than 50 TWU members will hold a two-hour stop work meeting on Thursday 29 September.
The Australian Licenced Aircraft Engineers Association has instructed its members to strike for one hour in the afternoon in Sydney today and in Melbourne on Friday.
In addition, Customs and Border Protection union employees are taking strike action at various times at airports around the nation from today through until Saturday 1 October 2011. Disruptions are expected to affect both arriving and departing passengers at international airports.
Passengers are advised to confirm schedules prior to travelling to the airport and should try to factor in additional time into their schedules in light of possible flight delays.
