A study by Cornell School of Hotel Administration Professor Judi Brownell has raised an interesting point about women business travellers and their hotel stays. Prof Brownell's survey of hotel managers reveals women value safety in hotels above all else â€" prioritising features like covered parking, secure locks, well-lit hallways and thoughtful room locations. With women travellers more focused on feeling secure and comfortable, what are the implications for those who manage hotel procurement for their universities?
In this case, it is clear that sex matters! Women have different hotel requirements than their male colleagues, and this has to be considered by procurement managers. Selecting your preferred hotel suppliers should include a review of properties that can meet women's unique needs.
Campus Travel can assist you in this process. We know hotels and can recommend properties that not only offer what women want, but at rates that fit your travel budget. We can tailor your travel policy to give you the optimal mix of hotel properties and rates for all your academics' needs.
